Chummy (left of picture) is pictured with his friend Storm. Left for dead in a frozen field Spring 2013, but luckily found by two kind passers-by.
Two members of FARS were out walking when they saw the two trapped in frozen mud with no sign of any other sheep around. After freeing them, they wrapped them in their coats and took the pair home to warm and revive them.
Sadly it was too late for one of the pair and she could not be revived, but thankfully the remaining lamb pulled through. A walk of some 3 miles to an animal feed centre, resulted in Mike (one of the rescuers) managing to purchase some lambs milk for the hungry survivor.
After a couple of days of care, Mike and partner Sandra thought the lamb well enough to come here to Woolly Park where he was duly named Chummy.
All the money from this adoption will go straight to the Animals. We do not pay any administrative wages, which ensures every penny is used to pay for food, land rental, shelter, vets' bills and on-site husbandry.
